SGC GROUP NAMED AS NEW DISTRIBUTION PARTNER FOR UMAREX IN THE UNITED KINGDOM
Umarex GmbH & Co. KG has a new distribution partner in the UK market: From 1st July 2025, the SGC Group from Exeter – represented by Gary Lamburn and Aboo Cattran – will take over the exclusive distribution of Umarex airguns and accessories in the UK.
“After a detailed analysis of the market and discussions with different potential partners, the SGC Group was chosen. The decisive factors for the cooperation were their clearly defined growth strategy and the already successful distribution of the Hammerli Arms products in the UK. The final agreement was made at the IWA OutdoorClassics trade fair in Nuremberg, which has just concluded,” explains Oliver Lux, vice president sales of Umarex.
“We are proud to have Umarex as an internationally renowned partner at our side. The brand stands for innovation and quality, and we are convinced that together we can sustainably strengthen the UK market. Our aim is to provide dealers and final consumers with the best possible service and to further establish Umarex products,” added Gary Lamburn and Aboo Cattran from the SGC Group.
The SGC Group is a well-established company in the firearms and accessories trade with many years of experience in the UK market. The company offers a wide range of high-quality products and has made a name for itself in particular through its reliable logistics and customer-focused service. With a strong distribution network and a deep understanding of the needs of the specialist trade, SGC Group is an ideal partner for Umarex.
The UK market for airguns is growing continuously and Umarex sees great potential in this region. The collaboration with the SGC Group is intended not only to strengthen the company’s market presence, but also to improve access to end customers and specialist dealers. In addition to a wide range of products, the SGC Group is focusing on close cooperation with specialist retailers in order to provide customers with the best possible support. Dealers are also regularly trained and informed about new products.
Umarex would like to thank John Rothery Wholesale and its managing director Sean O’Driscoll for the successful partnership in the past and the professional handling of the realignment.
The SGC Group will continue to provide the usual service and support for existing Umarex products on the market. The existing dealer network, including the Umarex Premium Partners, will also be retained. Customers can rest assured that all warranty and service obligations will continue to be fully honored.
In support of the Umarex portfolio and dealer network, John Gumbley will be joining the SGC Trade Team from John Rothery Wholesale. This will ensure a smooth transition for existing dealers and help grow the brands exposure within the UK gun trade.
