WORLD GUNMAKERS’ EVENING 2025 DRAWS TRADE INTEREST AT THE SAVOY
The 2025 edition of the World Gunmakers’ Evening took place on Thursday, 29 May at London’s Savoy hotel, attracting nearly 500 guests and representatives from 35 gunmaking firms.
Hosted in the Lancaster Ballroom, the event brought together a cross-section of the international gun trade, from heritage brands to contemporary makers, in a setting focused on networking and presentation. While the evening offered an elegant social setting, several exhibitors reported meaningful trade conversations and new business opportunities, underlining the commercial value of the event alongside its networking appeal.
Stephen Jolly, newly appointed director of the Gun Trade Association, opened the evening with a message to the assembled trade: “I want the GTA to continue to be a beacon of professionalism, integrity, and ethical standards. Our trade is only as strong as its reputation. That means standing together as members, upholding best practice, and speaking with one voice.”
He added: “From the finest bespoke shotguns to precision rifles, the UK gun trade continues to set the standard, and it’s time we made that story better known to a wider audience, both at home and abroad.”
Feedback from attendees was positive. Edward King of ASI, representing Italian manufacturer Rizzini, noted: “We had meaningful conversations with collectors, dealers and enthusiasts alike, and the level of interest in fine gunmaking felt encouragingly buoyant.”
Adam Anthony of Gallyon Gun & Rifle Makers added: “There’s a renewed energy around British gunmaking, and we are proud to be part of it. The event gave us a useful opportunity to showcase our direction to both the trade and wider audience.”
Organisers indicated that planning is already underway for a 2026 edition, with further details expected later this year.
