Held in Nuremberg from February 26 to March 1, the annual trade show once again brought together manufacturers, distributors and media from around the world. ThermTec used the event to showcase its latest developments in thermal imaging, with a particular focus on multi-spectrum observation and next-generation thermal scopes.
VENTUS MULTI-SPECTRUM BINOCULAR MAKES DEBUT
The centrepiece of ThermTec’s display was the debut of the Ventus multi-spectrum binocular, designed to combine thermal and digital observation technologies in a single system.
The device integrates a 15mK thermal sensor with a 4K Ultra CMOS sensor capable of producing 12-megapixel full-colour imagery during daylight use. Additional features include a dual-band infrared illuminator and a built-in laser rangefinder.
The system is designed for both day and night operation, allowing users to switch between thermal detection and optical observation depending on the conditions.
ThermTec said the unit was developed with field usability in mind, incorporating a compact design, rubberised exterior coating and a dual-focus control system intended to enable stable one-handed operation in demanding environments.
ORYX AND IBEX THERMAL SCOPES DRAW ATTENTION
ThermTec also highlighted its Oryx and Ibex thermal rifle scope series, which attracted significant interest from visitors during the exhibition.
The upcoming Oryx-1260L model features the company’s AI-driven Thermal Super Resolution technology, designed to improve image clarity and sensitivity in low-contrast conditions.
Both the Oryx and Ibex platforms incorporate a central turret focus system that allows shooters to adjust focus without shifting their shooting position, a feature intended to improve comfort during extended observation or shooting sessions.
The scopes also include ThermTec’s AutoSight System (TASS), which automatically resets the optic to base magnification after recoil, allowing users to reacquire moving targets more quickly.
HANDHELD AND CLIP-ON SYSTEMS
In addition to rifle optics, ThermTec showcased its Wild DL handheld thermal monocular alongside the forthcoming Wild Pro series. Both are designed as compact thermal detection devices for hunters and outdoor users.
The monocular systems incorporate 15mK sensor sensitivity and joystick-based controls aimed at providing simple operation in field conditions.
ThermTec also presented its Hunt LRF thermal clip-on system, which includes a pre-zeroing system and ballistic algorithm intended to reduce setup time while improving shot alignment accuracy.
INDUSTRY ENGAGEMENT AT IWA
ThermTec said the exhibition also provided an opportunity to gather feedback from distributors, hunters and professional users regarding product ergonomics and user interface design.
The company noted that insights gathered during the show will contribute to future refinements across its product range.
GLOBAL GROWTH
According to ThermTec, IWA 2026 represented another step in the company’s international expansion as it continues to develop partnerships across Europe, North America and other global markets.
ThermTec Technology Co., Ltd. specialises in infrared thermal imaging technology and develops thermal optics and detection systems for hunting, outdoor observation and professional applications.
