SIFA APPOINTS DAN RYAN AS MEMBERSHIP SERVICES OFFICER AMID AFFILIATE GROWTH

Shooting Industry Foundation of Australia has appointed Dan Ryan as membership services officer, as the organisation expands its Affiliate membership programme.

Ryan joins SIFA with a background in rural reporting, having covered agriculture, politics and sport while based in Cowra, New South Wales. During that time, he developed close links with sports shooters, farmers and local communities, alongside gaining first-hand experience of hunting and target shooting.

In his new role, Ryan will act as a point of contact for retail firearms dealers across Australia, supporting engagement with the expanding Affiliate membership framework.

The programme is designed to bring a broader range of industry participants into SIFA’s advocacy work, ensuring that the views of licensed firearms dealers are represented in discussions with policymakers.

SIFA has also launched a nationwide outreach initiative, targeting more than 400 licensed firearms dealers, as part of efforts to increase participation and strengthen industry representation.

Ryan said early feedback from dealers has been positive, reflecting a willingness among businesses to collaborate at a time of increasing regulatory pressure.

SIFA stated that continued growth in Affiliate membership will help provide a clearer picture of the sector’s scale and contribution, supporting its wider objective of representing a unified and responsible industry.
