Sales assistant
DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
TGS Outdoors is seeking a sales assistant to support the continued growth of its retail operations. The role involves engaging with customers in-store, providing product advice and delivering a high standard of customer service across firearms, accessories and clothing. Responsibilities include handling enquiries in person and via phone or email, processing sales and managing firearms transactions, including booking guns in and out of the register for sale, storage and repair. The successful candidate will work as part of a close team while also demonstrating initiative in managing their own responsibilities..
PLACE OF WORK:
Southampton, Hampshire, United Kingdom (SO30 2GB)
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Previous retail sales experience (1–2 years preferred)
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Good product knowledge, with an interest in shooting advantageous
• Ability to work flexible hours (Tuesday to Saturday, five-day week)
• Must be aged 18 or over and willing to undergo a full CRB check
• Clean criminal record required.
SALARY:
From £12.21 per hour, dependent on experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of the country lifestyle sector is beneficial but not essential.

The Gunroom Sales Associate will play a key role in delivering a high standard of customer service within the Beretta Gallery. The position involves supporting daily gunroom operations, ensuring compliance with firearms legislation and internal procedures, and contributing to overall store performance. Responsibilities include assisting the Gunroom Manager, maintaining accurate firearms records, driving sales, handling transactions, managing stock levels and merchandising displays. The role also involves coordinating returns and servicing via Parcelforce, as well as maintaining an organised and compliant gunroom vault.
