DAVIDSON’S SECURES EXCLUSIVE DISTRIBUTION FOR TANDEMKROSS TKX22
Davidson’s has been appointed as the exclusive distributor for the TANDEMKROSS TKX22 Light Rifle, expanding its product offering with the brand’s first complete firearm platform.
The agreement builds on an existing relationship between the two companies, with Davidson’s initially stocking a selection of TANDEMKROSS accessory SKUs before moving into full rifle distribution.
Founded in 2012, TANDEMKROSS is based in New Hampshire and has established a presence in the rimfire segment through its range of aftermarket components. All TANDEMKROSS-branded products are manufactured in the United States.
The TKX22 Light Rifle is positioned as a lightweight semi-automatic .22LR platform, with an unloaded weight of under 3.5lbs. The rifle incorporates a range of the company’s in-house components, including the TKX22 receiver, Spitfire lightweight barrel, Manticore LITE trigger assembly, KrossFire bolt, and Spartan charging handle.
Designed for versatility, the platform features a 0 MOA Picatinny rail integrated into the receiver and M-LOK mounting points, supporting a wide range of optics and accessories. The rifle is also compatible with Ruger 10/22-pattern parts and magazines.
KANSAS REMOVES STATE SUPPRESSOR RESTRICTIONS WITH NEW LAW
Kansas has removed state-level criminal prohibitions on firearm suppressors after Governor Laura Kelly signed House Bill 2501 into law.
The legislation eliminates previous state restrictions on suppressor possession and removes the requirement for a federal tax stamp under Kansas law. Federal requirements under the National Firearms Act (NFA) remain in place.
The bill was passed with bipartisan support, receiving a 99–22 vote in the House of Representatives and 35–4 in the Senate.
Lawrence G. Keane, Senior Vice President & General Counsel at NSSF, said: “This is what proactive and commonsense leadership looks like. With Governor Kelly’s signature, Kansas is taking the steps to ensure that its citizens can lawfully obtain, possess and use a hearing protection device when they are removed from the National Firearms Act (NFA), which is long overdue.”
In addition to suppressor provisions, the law introduces liability protections for firearm retailers returning firearms at the end of a hold agreement, and removes certain state-level restrictions relating to shotgun barrel length and short-barrel rifles.
The legislation also increases penalties for the criminal misuse of short-barrel rifles, short-barrel shotguns, and firearms equipped with suppressors.
The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the US firearms industry trade association, supported the bill and continues to advocate for the removal of suppressors from the NFA at federal level.
RETAILBI REPORTS 11.9% DECLINE IN US FIREARM SALES FOR MARCH
RetailBI has reported an 11.9% year-over-year decline in new firearm sales for March 2026, with year-to-date sales down 8.2% compared to the same period in 2025.
The figures come from the RetailBI Firearm Sales Index, which tracks point-of-sale and e-commerce transactions from a network of more than 2,000 US firearms retailers. The index focuses exclusively on new firearm sales and applies a same-store methodology to ensure consistent year-on-year comparisons.
The data is positioned as an alternative to National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) figures, which have traditionally been used by manufacturers and distributors as a proxy for consumer demand. RetailBI argues that NICS data can be distorted by factors such as permit applications, used firearm transactions, and multiple-firearm purchases.
By isolating new firearm sales and excluding non-sale transactions, the RetailBI index aims to provide a more accurate reflection of retail demand and market performance.
The index is published monthly and is supported by additional quarterly and annual reporting, providing insight into broader industry trends and performance benchmarks.
RetailBI is part of Gearfire, a US-based provider of retail technology and data solutions for the shooting sports industry, offering integrated e-commerce, point-of-sale, and analytics platforms to firearms retailers.
