BIG LAUNCHES, BOLD DESIGNS: BRITISH SHOOTING SHOW ROUND-UP FROM THE SGC STAND

As the dust settles on the shooting industry’s biggest annual gathering, we take a closer look at some of the most exciting new product launches. At the heart of the show, the SGC Group — home to many of the industry’s favourite brands — unveiled five world-first exclusives alongside a host of new releases set to make a major impact in 2026.

Undoubtedly the star attraction was the Perazzi MR57, positioned proudly at the centre of the Perazzi display. The new model drew widespread admiration for its distinctive design and exceptional balance. Inspired by the philosophies of Daniele Perazzi, the MR57 was developed by listening to shooters, analysing performance, and applying nearly 70 years of expertise to create a modern firearm that exceeds expectations and sets new standards.

The result is a shotgun that optimises balance, control, and overall shooting performance, wrapped in a strikingly contemporary aesthetic. The beautifully finished receiver is the first feature to catch the eye, where flowing curves and sharp angles combine to project strength and precision. A completely redesigned action improves mass distribution, delivering a slightly rearward balance that enhances stability, responsiveness, and consistency of movement, while reducing perceived recoil during extended sessions.

Forward of the action, redesigned forcing cones and ultra-light chokes refine shot patterns, increase velocity, and maintain durability. Perazzi’s proven mechanical system remains unchanged, ensuring reliability, while in-house steel alloy barrels provide consistent ballistics and allow the use of steel shot ammunition. If early reactions are any indication, the MR57 looks set to win favour with competition shooters and discerning game shots alike.

Elsewhere, FX Airguns generated significant attention with four new product launches. Leading the charge were two additions to the popular DRS range. Originally introduced in 2024, the DRS redefined air rifle design with its innovative over-barrel air cylinder — a feature that streamlined the rifle’s profile while improving balance and handling.

Building on that success, FX has introduced two new 12 ft/lb compact DRS models featuring 380mm barrels and Donny FL moderators. The revised configuration enhances manoeuvrability in confined environments, reduces weight, and improves sound moderation. Available in Tactical and Synthetic Classic specifications, these models are already tipped as strong sellers for 2026/27.

In a notable development for UK shooters, FX has also added .20 calibre to its line-up. Long requested but previously absent from the range, .20 calibre will be offered in a limited UK run. Initially available as barrel kits with magazines for Impact and DRS owners, it will also be offered as a factory option on the new

DRS Compact models.

Completing the FX announcements was an update to the company’s popular pocket chronograph. Now featuring a digital display and an improved fittings kit, the revised model offers both Picatinny and barrel mounting options, making it easier to install and read in the field.

Beyond the airgun sector, SGC’s shotgun division also delivered notable innovations. Clay shooters were treated to an upgraded ATA Pro 12 Drop Trigger Comp model for 2026, now available with a striking black action and enhanced Grade 5 Turkish walnut. The refreshed design elevates both performance and visual appeal, delivering exceptional value within its class.

Perhaps the most intriguing release, however, came from Turkish manufacturer Kofs. Known for lightweight designs and small-calibre firearms, Kofs introduced a distinctive new three-barrel RP range. Built on a 7000-series alloy action, the RP models feature three monobloc barrels arranged in a triangular configuration, offering a novel interpretation of the traditional game gun. Supplied with five chokes and available in 12G, 20G, 28G, and .410, the RP is poised to become a popular three-shot alternative for shooters holding a standard shotgun licence.
