William Evans has confirmed it will consolidate its business operations at Bisley Camp in Surrey as its lease on the company’s London premises comes to an end in early 2026.
The company has traded from 67 St James’s Street, London, since 1944, after a bomb destroyed its previous premises at 63 Pall Mall during the Second World War. William Evans was founded in 1883 by William Evans, who previously worked for both James Purdey and Holland & Holland before establishing his own gunmaking business.
William Evans opened a second site at Bisley Camp in 2007, expanding its footprint to the home of British shooting and a venue known for supporting a wide range of shooting disciplines. The company said the Bisley location is well positioned in Surrey, close to both London and Heathrow Airport, and offers facilities designed to support multiple shooting applications.
With the London lease ending, William Evans said it has decided to consolidate the business at its Bisley Camp store.
The company confirmed the final day of trading at its London store will be Saturday 31 January. William Evans said a closing sale is already underway in London, with some clothing reduced by 50 percent, and urged customers to take advantage of the offers while stock remains.
Following the London closure, William Evans said it will continue the range of offers at Bisley from 3 February.
