Baschieri & Pellagri has confirmed that its Legend Professional Steel clay cartridge is now available to UK dealers, expanding the range of non-lead options for the domestic market.
The Italian manufacturer’s latest load is designed as a lead-free alternative for clay shooting, offered in 12/70 with 24g and 28g options. It is suitable for Trap, Skeet and Sporting disciplines, aligning with increasing demand for non-lead ammunition across the UK trade.
The cartridge is loaded with zinc-plated steel shot, providing corrosion resistance and consistent patterning. It is available with either a traditional plastic wad or B&P’s Green Core biodegradable wad, offering dealers flexibility depending on customer preference and ground requirements.
Peter Critchley, UK sales manager for B&P said: “Those who have tried the cartridge love it as a non-lead alternative, and those who haven’t are likely to enjoy it because it delivers outstanding performance and can be shot through standard steel-proofed guns (with the recommended choke sizes).”
Performance is driven by B&P’s F2 powder, delivering stable velocities and compact patterns. The inclusion of the Gordon recoil system is intended to reduce felt recoil, which may appeal to regular clay shooters seeking comfort over longer sessions.
The Legend Professional Steel range is also designed with barrel protection in mind, intended for use in suitable steel-proofed shotguns, an important consideration as more shooters transition away from lead.
Available in shot sizes ranging from 7 to 9.5, the introduction of the Legend Professional Steel provides UK dealers with an additional option in a category that continues to develop in response to both market demand and evolving legislation.
