Kath Bright has joined as business administrator and assistant manager, bringing more than 30 years of experience in competitive shooting. A regular member of the England and Great Britain teams, she has represented her country in Automatic Ball Trap (ABT) and Universal Trench (UT), and is the current British Open Ladies Champion for ABT. She recently returned from international competition in Portugal.
In addition to her operational responsibilities, Bright will be launching a monthly Ladies’ Social Evening to provide a relaxed and supportive environment for women to gain confidence in the sport, regardless of experience level.
Joining her is Tristan Prudden, who takes up the role of head chef and chef manager. Prudden began his culinary career at the age of 13 and went on to graduate from Tante Marie Cookery Academy in Woking with a Cordon Bleu Diploma in Professional Culinary Arts, earning the Student of the Year award.
He has since worked in several notable kitchens across the region, including The Devonshire Arms, The Garden Rooms at Tennants and The Black Horse at Kirkby Fleetham. Prudden also served as a private chef at Constable Burton Hall, where he developed a particular interest in seasonal game cookery. A finalist in the Game Chef of the Year competition, he was named ‘Champion of Champions’ in the Eat Game Awards in 2018 and ‘Winner of Winners’ in 2019.
“We’re absolutely delighted to welcome both Kath and Tristan to the team,” said Philip Thompson, shooting ground manager at Thimbleby Estate. “Their experience, enthusiasm and energy are a perfect fit for Thimbleby as we welcome guests for lessons, a competition or a bite to eat in the clubhouse.”
Thimbleby Shooting Ground is located just off the A19 near Northallerton and is open six days a week. The ground offers coaching for all levels, from novice to experienced shots, and caters for individual lessons, larger groups and corporate events. The on-site café is open to non-shooting visitors and available for functions and events.
