SGC GROUP CONFIRMED AS SOLE UMAREX AIRGUN DISTRIBUTOR AS ROTHERY CLEARS REMAINING STOCK

The SGC Group has reiterated that it is the sole official distributor for Umarex airguns in the UK and Northern Ireland, following some confusion within the trade regarding distribution arrangements during the transition period earlier this year.

SGC Group was appointed sole distributor for Umarex airguns with effect from July 2025, a move first reported by Gun Trade Insider earlier this year. It has been the only recognised distributor for Umarex airguns since that date, providing a single and consistent route to market for retailers.

Under the current arrangement, SGC Group is the exclusive source for all new Umarex airgun products, official warranty and service work, and future shipments into the UK and Northern Ireland. The company said any recent uncertainty arose because a previous wholesaler has continued to fulfil orders that had been placed prior to the handover, a decision taken by Umarex to ensure retailers were not disadvantaged during the transition.

Umarex has confirmed that all future shipments are now allocated exclusively to SGC Group. Retailers will therefore deal with a single point of contact for upcoming product releases, warranty support and ongoing supply.

Among the Umarex products released during 2025 are the Glock 17 Gen 5 MOS (BB), Walther PDP F-Series pistols, and air rifles including the Prymex, Synergis Elite, Zelos and Notos. Umarex has also indicated that a full programme of new product launches is planned for 2026, with announcements expected at SHOT Show, IWA OutdoorClassics and the British Shooting Show.

SGC Group will again exhibit at the British Shooting Show in 2026 and will also support Umarex on its independent stand, reinforcing the partnership between the two companies.

Separately, John Rothery Wholesale has confirmed it is clearing its remaining Umarex inventory following the change in UK distribution. The wholesaler currently holds around £500,000 worth of Umarex stock, which is being offered to retailers on a sell-through and clearance basis.

The available inventory includes licensed Umarex models from Glock, Beretta, Walther, Smith & Wesson and H&K, along with a range of air pistols, air rifles and accessories. John Rothery said pricing has been adjusted in response to new market levels, allowing retailers a time-limited opportunity to source remaining stock while protecting margin.

John Rothery has also confirmed that it will continue to provide repair and service support for Umarex products previously supplied through the business, despite no longer receiving new stock under the new distribution structure.

Once existing inventory has been sold through, future availability of Umarex airgun products in the UK and Northern Ireland will be supplied exclusively via SGC Group
