Aircraft Technician (Weapons)

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

The role involves maintaining, managing and preparing aircraft weapons and explosives, ensuring they are ready for operational use. Duties include arming aircraft with bombs, guided weapons and missiles, servicing and repairing ejection seats, gun systems and missile launchers, building and fitting smart weapons and decoy flares, and maintaining the weapons used on station. This is an enlisted aviator position.

PLACE OF WORK:

RAF bases in the UK and overseas, including potential first posting to a flying squadron after specialist training.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Applicants must be aged 16–47 (must attest before 48th birthday).

• GCSE grade C/4 in English language, Mathematics and an approved Science or Technology subject (or Scottish National 5 equivalent).

• Must meet RAF nationality, residency, health, fitness and background check requirements.

• Must pass the Defence Aptitude Assessment and pre-joining fitness test.

• Commitment of 3 years’ service after specialist training.

SALARY:

Initial annual pay: £26,300+ (plus benefits). Salary if promoted to Corporal: £40,000+ (plus benefits).

PRIMROSEHILL SPORTING (PRIMROSEHILL ESTATE)

The estate operates a partridge and pheasant shoot alongside a working game farm and associated estate operations, requiring experienced staff capable of contributing across all areas of the business.

POSITION BEING RECRUITED:

Beatkeeper

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

The role is for an experienced Beatkeeper who will work both on the game farm and across the estate shoot. The successful candidate will bring proven experience to a high-quality partridge and pheasant operation. Responsibilities include all aspects of day-to-day gamekeeping on a driven shoot, with specific reference to partridges and pheasants, along with broader estate work as required. The position is not an entry-level role; significant attention will be paid to relevant and specific work experience. The Beatkeeper must be self-motivated, able to work independently and as part of a small team, and capable of undertaking a variety of estate tasks as needed.

PLACE OF WORK:

Primrosehill, Berwickshire, TD11, Scottish Borders (on-site estate role)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 3 years’ direct and relevant work experience

• Extensive experience across all aspects of a working game farm

• Direct experience of gamekeeping duties relating to partridges and pheasants

• Capable of undertaking general estate work and associated tasks as required

Apprentice Administration Assistant – CEO Office

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

The apprentice administration assistant will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Project Integration Manager and the CEO Office. This includes assisting the CEO, BASC chairman, vice-chair and executive directors with diaries, travel, expenses and logistics. Duties cover proof-reading, collation and distribution of meeting papers and letters, raising order requisitions, and maintaining accurate filing systems.

PLACE OF WORK:

BASC Head Office, Marford Mill, Rossett (Wrexham area), with some travel to shows, events and the annual Game Fair as required. Agile/flexible working within core hours of 8:30–17:30, Monday to Friday, with some weekend and out-of-hours work.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Good standard of education, including GCSE/Level 2 English and Maths Experience using Microsoft Office (including Word and Outlook) and web-based IT packages

• Experience providing a high standard of customer service and dealing with customers or members

• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team

• Strong time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confident telephone manner
