The British Deer Society has entered a multi-year partnership with Thomas Jacks, the exclusive UK and ROI distributor of Pulsar thermal imaging, digital and night vision optics and Spypoint wireless trail cameras. The agreement reflects the increasing role that these technologies play in responsible deer management, wildlife observation and public education.
According to both organisations, the partnership is built around the principle that improved clarity supports every aspect of deer stewardship. This includes enabling informed decision making in the field, helping to capture and share unobtrusive footage of deer for public engagement and contributing to research through monitoring and recorded sightings.
In a statement, Tom Gosbell, director at Thomas Jacks, said: “The partnership between Pulsar and the British Deer Society represents a powerful collaboration that highlights how our cutting-edge thermal imaging technology can help with responsible deer stewardship and ethical conservation practices.
“By teaming up with the British Deer Society, Pulsar can support the charity’s mission to promote sustainable deer management and conservation through the use of advanced thermal imaging optics designed to enhance fieldcraft and safety. This partnership helps improve the monitoring and welfare of deer populations across the UK whilst educating those within the field through the charity’s DSC1/2 courses, showcasing how innovations in thermal imaging technology can positively impact conservation efforts.
“We are proud to have joined the BDS in this partnership and look forward to jointly setting the bar for safety and sustainability in the field.”
The British Deer Society stated that the collaboration will support ongoing training, research and public engagement activities aimed at improving understanding of the UK’s wild deer populations.
