Fiocchi UK has reintroduced two updated competition loads, the Golden X and the Official X, following an extended research and development programme with competition shooters and technical advisers.
The company says both loads combine a new multi-grain powder blend with a redesigned six-petal wad and hardened lead shot to deliver cleaner combustion, denser patterns and consistent performance across a wide range of conditions while retaining the familiar felt recoil of the previous formulations.
“After years of R&D with shooting experts, we’ve blended craftsmanship and advanced tech to deliver cleaner burns, tighter patterns, and consistent performance in all conditions,” said the team at Fiocchi UK.
“Featuring a new multi-grain powder blend, combining faster burning blue grains for instant ignition and denser yellow grains for sustained propulsion, along with the redesigned wad and hardened shot, both loads deliver exceptional performance. The only difference between the Golden X and the Official X is the primer. The Golden X features the new Golden primer for faster ignition and higher velocity. The official X contains the standard primer to allow for retained energy over distance when coupled with the new powder and wad.”
According to Fiocchi, the Golden X’s primer and powder combination produces shorter barrel time and slightly higher muzzle velocities, which the company says improves projectile trajectory and on-target execution. The official X is tuned to preserve energy at range while benefitting from the same patterning and combustion improvements.
