EAA CORP ACQUIRES TENNESSEE MANUFACTURING FACILITY
European American Armory has acquired a manufacturing facility in Mountain City, Tennessee, as part of an investment in US firearms production.
The site is being renovated to support precision machining, firearm assembly, logistics and related operations. EAA Corp plans to increase its manufacturing capabilities while establishing a collaborative hub where other firearms businesses can lease space.
Available space could accommodate component manufacturing, product development, assembly and warehousing, providing options for companies seeking additional capacity or relocation.
“Our vision extends beyond expanding EAA’s manufacturing capabilities,” said Chase Duffey of EAA Corp. “We want to create an environment where companies throughout the firearms industry can grow together, share resources, and strengthen the domestic manufacturing base. This facility provides an exceptional opportunity for manufacturers looking to expand or relocate their operations.”
The company identified the local workforce, transport links and economic development programs as supporting factors. Further details about capabilities, space and timescales will be released as redevelopment progresses.

SAAMI OPENS VOTING MEMBERSHIP TO US SUPPRESSOR MANUFACTURERS
The Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers’ Institute has expanded voting membership eligibility to US firearm suppressor manufacturers and designers.
Eligible businesses can now seek representation on the SAAMI Board of Directors, extending the involvement previously available through associate membership. Benefits include participation on standing committees, access to technical standards and a role in developing future guidance. Members also receive access to assessments conducted through the SAAMI reference ammunition program.
The change follows publication of SAAMI Z299.6-2025, Voluntary Industry Performance Standards Criteria for Firearm Sound Suppressors for the Use of Commercial Manufacturers.
Developed with suppressor, firearm and ammunition manufacturers, the standard provides a consistent method for evaluating suppressor sound-reduction performance. It also establishes manufacturing criteria for muzzle and socket threads to improve product compatibility.
SAAMI said expanding voting membership would give the suppressor sector a greater role in shaping technical, performance and safety standards. Interested companies can submit a Membership Information Request through its website.
US ADJUSTED BACKGROUND CHECKS RISE 11.7 PERCENT IN JUNE
NSSF-adjusted firearm background checks in the United States increased 11.7 percent year over year in June 2026.
National Shooting Sports Foundation figures show 1,123,006 adjusted National Instant Criminal Background Check System checks during the month, up from 1,004,986 in June 2025. The unadjusted FBI total fell 1.2 percent to 1,886,539.
Texas recorded the most adjusted checks, followed by Florida, Virginia, California and Pennsylvania.
NSSF has also started publishing monthly National Firearms Act checks using Form 1 and Form 4 data. June produced 166,677 NFA checks, up 177.1 percent from 60,147 a year earlier. Texas led with 23,133, followed by Virginia with 18,235 and Florida with 11,782.
NSSF calculates its adjusted total by removing permit checks and rechecks associated with concealed-carry applications and active permit databases.
The organization stressed that background checks do not provide a direct measure of firearm sales. One check may cover multiple new or used firearms, while some transfers do not require a separate check when the purchaser holds a qualifying permit.
