Executive director

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:

The executive director is responsible for leading the association’s internal operations and external engagement. Reporting to the GTA council, the role includes monitoring a range factors that affect the UK gun trade and engaging with members, politicians, government officials, police, and shooting bodies to advance the industry. This varied and rewarding role demands strategic oversight and active representation of the GTA’s interests.

PLACE OF WORK:

The role is based at the GTA headquarters at Bisley Camp in Surrey. The executive director is also required to travel regularly to London, across the UK, and occasionally overseas. The successful candidate can also work from home.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Applicants should have a fundamental interest in shooting matters, familiarity with firearms licensing law, strong administrative skills, and the ability to act as a competent influencer.

SALARY:

£60,000+ depending on experience.

BENEFITS:

The position offers a negotiable salary starting at £60,000 depending on experience, along with expenses for travel and accommodation. Additional benefits include 25 days of paid holiday per annum and standard employment terms and conditions.

The retail sales associate will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, assisting customers with purchases, and responding to enquiries both in person and via phone and email. The role also includes maintaining well-organised and visually appealing in-store displays and working collaboratively with team members to ensure the smooth running of the shop. This is a fulltime role working 40 hours per week, with typical hours from 9am to 5:30pm, five days per week, including Saturdays.

PLACE OF WORK:

On-site at Cheshire Gun Room in Bolton.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Applicants should have a minimum of five years of experience in retail sales and at least five years of experience in customer service.

• An interest or background in sporting firearms is desirable but not essential.

• Successful candidates will need to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
