ESR DISTRIBUTION SEALS EXCLUSIVE DEAL WITH CHIAPPA FIREARMS

ESR Distribution, a new entrant in the wholesale gun trade, has announced an exclusive distribution agreement with the Italian firearms manufacturer Chiappa Firearms. This partnership will allow Buckinghamshire-based ESR Distribution to import Chiappa’s extensive range of pistols to the UK market.

Founded in 1958 by Ezechiele (Oscar) Chiappa in Brescia, Italy, Chiappa Firearms has a long history in the firearms industry. Brescia, known for its centuries-old tradition in firearm production, is the base of Chiappa’s operations. The company offers a diverse and constantly evolving catalogue of pistols and rifles. Its products include replicas of historic American firearms, muzzle-loading firearms, lever-action hunting rifles, .17 and .22 rimfire pistols and rifles, as well as sporting and self-defence pistols and revolvers such as the renowned Rhino. Additionally, Chiappa manufactures signal and alarm pistols and compressed air pistols.

ESR Distribution aims to provide the UK gun trade and consumers with competitive prices and excellent service on a range of premium sporting goods, many of which are new to the UK market. Alongside the Chiappa distribution agreement, ESR offers new rifles from Weatherby, a high-end bipod from NorneHunt and innovative decoys from Final Approach.

Rino Chiappa, CEO of Chiappa Firearms, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are delighted to be working with ESR to bring our portfolio of firearms to the UK market. We already have a loyal and growing customer base in the UK and are proud to continue offering premium firearms to this base.”

Richard Ryan, managing director of ESR Distribution, added, “We are thrilled to be working closely with Chiappa on this distribution agreement. Chiappa is a key addition to our new and expanding portfolio of premium brands, marking a great start to 2024.”

ESR says that it operates a hybrid distribution and retail model to speed up product life cycles and enhance brand management capabilities. By integrating traditional distribution channels with direct retail strategies, ESR says that it aims to create a more agile and responsive supply chain.

The company plans to leverage creative use of margins and protect supplier prices, ultimately lowering the recommended retail price (RRP) for consumers. ESR feel this approach will provide better value to customers, making high-quality sporting goods more accessible.

POLICE “POLICY” REGARDING NON-DECLARATION DOES NOT REFLECT THE LAW
Failure to declare previous convictions or medical conditions can lead to the refusal of firearm certificates. However, police interpretation of non-disclosure policies often disregards the intent behind omissions, treating all failures as deliberate. This approach, says barrister Nick Doherty, raises significant legal and fairness concerns.
