VIKING ARMS LAUNCHES LAPUA TRX HUNTING RANGE FOR UK DEALERS

New solid-copper hunting bullets and factory-loaded ammunition promise high ballistic performance, deep penetration and controlled expansion for the UK trade.

Lapua has expanded its hunting portfolio with the launch of its new TrueRange Expanding (TRX) hunting bullets and ammunition, with UK distributor Viking Arms introducing the range to the UK trade.

Designed for hunters and precision shooting enthusiasts, the TRX range has been developed to combine long-range accuracy with consistent terminal performance. The new products feature a solid-copper, polymer-tipped bullet designed to offer high ballistic coefficients, controlled expansion and exceptional weight retention.

According to Lapua, the TRX projectile delivers some of the highest ballistic coefficient (BC) values in its class, helping to reduce wind drift and produce a flatter trajectory. This allows hunters to maintain confidence when shooting at extended distances or in more challenging conditions.

Mikko Latvala, Lapua’s R&D engineer, said: “The high BCs of the TRX ensure a flatter trajectory and superior resistance to wind drift. This enables hunters to confidently take longer shots with precision, even in challenging conditions.”

The company says the bullet maintains its velocity and stability over longer distances, making it suitable for both medium and long-range hunting applications.

On impact, the TRX bullet is engineered to deliver controlled mushrooming expansion while retaining almost all of its original weight. The solid-copper construction is intended to maximise energy transfer and provide deep penetration on a wide variety of game species, helping to achieve clean, ethical kills with minimal tracking.

Initially, the TRX hunting bullet is available in three configurations:

• 6.5mm, 120-grain (7.8g)

• .30 calibre, 150-grain (9.7g)

• .30 calibre, 165-grain (10.7g)

Alongside the component bullets, Lapua has also introduced a factory-loaded TRX ammunition range using the same polymer-tipped projectile.

The ammunition combines Lapua cartridge cases with Vihtavuori propellants and incorporates the company’s patented Air Lock waterproof technology, which is designed to protect the powder and primer against moisture and other environmental factors that could affect reliable ignition.

Lapua has announced factory-loaded TRX ammunition in 6.5×55 SE, 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 Winchester, .300 Winchester Magnum and .30-06 Springfield. Additional bullet and cartridge options are expected to be announced later this year.

The combination of premium components, high ballistic efficiency and controlled terminal performance is intended to meet the demands of hunters seeking consistent accuracy across a broad range of shooting distances, while providing dealers with a new premium lead-free hunting offering from one of the industry’s best-known ammunition manufacturers.

Dealers interested in stocking the new Lapua TRX range or obtaining further information should contact Viking Arms for product details, availability and ordering information.
