Jonathan McGee (centre), trading under his own name, has been appointed as the official UK importer and distributor for Cosmi.
The move follows three years representing Armas Kemen in the UK, during which time McGee has focused on reintroducing the brand to the domestic market after a prolonged absence. Building on that experience, the business has set out to identify additional manufacturers that align with similar standards of quality and craftsmanship.
Cosmi, based in Italy, celebrates its 100-year anniversary in 2026 and is widely recognised for its high-end semi-automatic shotguns. The new agreement will see McGee offer the brand directly to UK customers, supported by local distribution, servicing and warranty provision.
Alongside the distribution announcement, Cosmi has introduced a new model, the Cosmi Cento sporting shotgun. While the company is traditionally associated with its semi-automatic designs, the Cento represents an extension into the over-and-under segment, aimed at competitive shooters seeking a combination of performance and distinctive design.
McGee noted that the addition of Cosmi reflects a broader strategy to work with smaller, independent gunmakers that offer a clear point of difference within the market. He also highlighted changing customer expectations in the premium segment, particularly around purchasing experience and after-sales support.
The business operates a direct-to-consumer model, providing customers with a single point of contact, UK-based servicing and warranty support. According to McGee, this approach is intended to give buyers greater confidence when investing in higher-value firearms.
The appointment strengthens the availability of boutique European brands within the UK market and reflects ongoing interest among retailers and consumers in specialist, high-quality products.
