The Schmeisser Steel Challenge will return to Silverstone Shooting Centre, Brackley, on 27 June 2026 after tickets for the event sold out in just two and a half hours.
Organised by Edgar Brothers, the competition follows the same format as previous years, with competitors racing against the clock to engage 125 steel targets using the Schmeisser SP9 9mm straight-pull rifle.
Entry for the 2026 event opened at 6pm on Friday evening and was fully booked by 8.30pm. According to organisers, the rapid sell-out may represent a record for a UK shooting event and reflects the strong demand generated by previous editions of the Steel Challenge.
Entries were priced at £60, including ammunition and refreshments during the day, with breakfast and a hog roast lunch provided for competitors.
For 2026, organisers have also introduced a new class for the recently launched Schmeisser AR15-22 chambered in .22LR. The category will run alongside the main SP9 competition and forms part of the event’s continued expansion.
As in previous years, competitors will complete a timed course of steel targets designed to test speed, accuracy and consistency. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place, as well as a best combined team award.
Participants can either bring their own Schmeisser SP9 or use rifles provided at the event. A valid firearm certificate is required to take part.
